Hi everyone I hope your all doing good!! I feel like I haven't been on here for a while but its only been a day or two. Well for my second emerging technology I am doing the IMOVIE application. This video I actually made back in February 2010 when a very good friend of mine passed away. Here is just a little background on the friendship he and I shared. I met Chris August of 2008 at Ball State University. He and I became very good friends very fast. I worked the desk at my dorm back then and he and some other people would always come and sit by the desk with and keep me company. Chris was in a wheelchair and suffered from spina bifida and was legally blind. (But could see really close up) He never let his disability bother him or get in the way of his dreams. He was a grad student at bsu and was living the life. Throughout the year at bsu I meet his family and became friends with them as well. In september of 2009 Chris became very ill. He was in the hospital for 4 months and then he passed away on January 5, 2010. I was lucky enough to get to go and visit him because he was at the IU Hospital for 2 months and the only one of his friends that was allowed to get in to see him. Because of the bad winter we had I did not get to attend his funeral because it was in South Bend and the morning of it we were hit with a massive snow storm but I talked to his dad and he kept telling me to stay home and be safe and not risk my life trying to get there. Well I felt awful that I could not attend so I made a movie for his family back in South Bend to show them how much we all loved him and get them a view to his world at bsu. ( You guys don't have to watch the whole thing it's kind of long..lol)
So now that I gave you the long overview of the movie I will explain the application to you. IMOVIE lets you create a movie with any picture and any music you like. I think I maybe spent an hour working on it before I had my final project. It is very easy to maneuver through and has videos to help explain any questions. Besides this one project I have made 5 other ones with in the year. The only problem I have had is downloading it to a disk to share but I'm working on figuring out how to do that. I would recommend IMOVIE to any one who has a movie or slide show they would want to share with others.
(I hope this video works on here if not let me know.)
Aww your video is so good!! Very good use of iMovie...I may try it now! I looked at it, but was kind of scared to use it. lol but I will definitely consider using it for my 2nd technology now!! :)
ReplyDeleteJordan, thanks for sharing this very special friend with us. IMovie is something I will definitely look into (if my daughter will let me borrow her MAC, lol). I have to admit I'm a little surprised by the use of many of these emerging technologies including all the cool things MAC computers have to offer. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteJordan that video was great!! Thank you so much for sharing with us! Thats great that you were able to use it so easily! I made one earlier in the semester as well but I didn't have as much of an easy time as you did! haha Like I said though it looks great!!
